Finnriver Farm + Cidery
Finnriver Farm + Cidery
Although 70% of the USA’s apple crop is grown in Washington, finding premium craft cider from Washington can be a surprising feat. Co-founder Crystie Kisler and the folks at Finnriver farm are changing that. Along a restored salmon stream on the north Olympic Peninsula of Washington, they have renovated a historic dairy farm into a 50 acre destination orchard, research farm, cider garden and community gathering place— all protected by permanent conservation easements, certified organic and salmon safe.
While their farm is remote, they’re honored to be at the forefront of the Pacific Northwest craft cider revival and are committed to producing both traditional and innovative hard ciders using organic ingredients while maintaining an authentically farmcrafted and land-based operation.
They source organic apples from across Washington state and grow their own organic orchard of over 6,500 trees, with 20 varieties of heirloom and traditional cider apple varieties. Finnriver strives to cherish the land through cider making - by caring for their soil, watershed and community - and to preserve old hard cider traditions whilst exploring all the possibilities of the fermented apple. Crystie’s mission in life and at Finnriver is to help reconnect people to the land that sustains us.
